The Mobile Chat Room

“Help Keep The Chat Room on the Road”

Tautoko Tāne Waikato The Chat Room, under the leadership of Steve Rickard, is committed to supporting Tāne living in rural and isolated communities throughout the Waikato region.

As part of this ongoing initiative, The Chat Room—our mobile support unit consisting of a ute and caravan—travels across the region providing a safe, welcoming space where Tāne can stop in, have a coffee, share what’s on their mind and offload.

The Chat Room visits communities on a three weekly rotation that includes Te Aroha, Matamata, Raglan, Te Kuiti, Hamilton and many smaller towns in between. By bringing support directly to where Tāne live, we help reduce the barriers often faced by those living in rural and isolated areas.

We are currently seeking sponsorship to help cover the operational costs of keeping this valuable resource on the road. Community support enables us to continue reaching Tāne who may otherwise struggle to access services and support networks.
